Poem #1 of 30 here we go!

my heart

burns inside a stone cold hearth

is a campfire in the far gone dark

is a four alarm brownstone razed

is a solar flare to end all days

is a reflection in your wet eyes,

of a firework bomb-bursting between us

is charcoal palmed and fisted

is unseen bright

is smolder deadly

my heart

is scald

is sear

is ice cold

burn

grab at it thoughtless

in panic, in darkness

be grateful for the blistered palm

the burn, fist, sizzle

the lesson learned

grateful it reminds you

of alive. of immediate.

of firework imprint

of prayer.
