Poem #11/30: Iron Maiden

IRON MAIDEN

Mouth of Mercury

Shadow of teeth.

Metal and bone, terminator

The gnaw -

Hungry violent thing

You are here to eat.

Ribs peeled back, the flower

Where you broke skin

The fault you left

The heart found the

Lungs - delicately

Sommelier, sing.

Pomegranate blooming

Skyward; split white mouthful

Jewel Stain.

Inhaled the tender

Mouth to bloodied mouth

Humming.

Kiss this Iron Maiden

Kiss her.

Her turn to devour

Devotee.
